Rancho Mirage Real Estate & Homes for Sale in California
Nestled at the base of the Santa Rosa foothills eleven miles southeast of Palm Springs at the geographic heart of the Coachella Valley is the city of Rancho Mirage. Known as an "Oasis of Gracious Living," the city is a world-class desert destination with award-winning resorts and multimillion dollar homes.
Rancho Mirage is a leader in luxury residential and commercial real estate developments; a carefully planned development with lush multi-million dollar estates, beautifully landscaped streets and an unparalleled quality of life surrounded by the natural beauty of the Coachella Valley and its surrounding mountains. Vibrant cultural activities, varied recreational opportunities and excellent schools complete its international appeal.
Rancho Mirage is known as "The Playground of Presidents" because many U.S. Presidents, from Eisenhower to Barack Obama, have visited and/or had homes here. Rancho Mirage is renowned for fine dining, year-round sunshine, professional services, financial institutions and home furnishing centers. Residents have access to five-star healthcare services at the Eisenhower Health medical center and the Betty Ford Center. The Sunnyland Gardens is a fascinating historical glimpse into the history, culture and art of the former U.S. Ambassadors, Walter and Leonore Annenberg. It is a "must experience" half-day adventure.
The city hosted the premier golf tournament in the area, formerly the Bob Hope Classic, for many years. Currently renamed the Desert Classic, it is played in nearby La Quinta. The women's golf professional event is The LPGA ANA Inspiration Golf Tournament (sometimes referred to as the Dinah Shore since the tournament was founded by the entertainer in 1972) and is sponsored by All Japan Airlines. The tournament is held annually at the wonderful Mission Hills Country Club.
The Palm Springs and Desert Sands Unified School Districts serve the population of more than 16,000 residents in Rancho Mirage. Rancho Mirage High School is a relatively new school and features a performing arts center on campus.
